On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, the town of Novi Travnik, a town with a strong industrial heritage and rich cultural life, presented itself on the Promenade of Culture in Sarajevo. Despite the chilly weather, a large audience gathered to support this unique meeting of art, tradition and togetherness.
The programme was opened by the moderator Anela Križanac, highlighting Novi Travnik as a town that gathers, encourages and connects – a place open to new ideas, cultural exchanges and cooperation. On behalf of the host, the guests were addressed by the Mayor of Novi Travnik, Stjepan Dujo, who proudly presented his town, emphasising its development potential and cultural vibrancy. Let us recall that Novi Travnik officially received the town status last year, which further strengthened its identity as a dynamic and open community.
The Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević, then addressed the gathering. who said in her speech:
“It is chilly, but our hearts are warm and toasty. This means that what follows will truly enrich us all, because another town presentation, this time Novi Travnik, is our great wealth.”
The musical part of the programme featured performances by students and teachers from the “Jakov Gotovac” Primary and Secondary Music School, choir and orchestra of the Mixed Music School of Novi Travnik, soloists from the “Dok teče Lašva” Festival, and the Novi Travnik majorettes. The audience had the opportunity to enjoy performances of classical and popular compositions, as well as original songs by young performers.
The handmade violins by master Zoran Martinović, one of the rare violin makers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, attracted special attention.
The evening ended with a concert by the Novi Travnik band “B*Brothers”, with socialising and exchanging impressions, confirming once again that culture has the power to connect and inspire.
Along with the concert, guests enjoyed the rich gastronomic offer of local producers and caterers – OPG Franjić, OPG Okus doma and Pizzeria Milano, who presented a variety of delicacies prepared with love from local ingredients.
Last night, Novi Travnik showed that it was not only striving to preserve tradition but was also bravely building its future through culture.
