On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and on my own behalf, I send sincere congratulations on the successful application to the European Cycling Federation (ECF) for the establishment of an official EuroVelo route through Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the launch of the important project “Giro di Ćiro Greenways”, which is being implemented with the support of the World Bank.

It is an extremely valuable initiative that connects the cultural and historical heritage, natural resources and development potential of the region in a modern and sustainable way, relying on the historical route of the Ćiro railway as the basis of the future green cycling and pedestrian infrastructure of the Western Balkans. Particularly valuable is regional cooperation and the involvement of international partners, as well as a strong focus on sustainable tourism, reducing traffic emissions and strengthening the local economy.

Such projects greatly contribute to the international recognition of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, positioning it as an attractive and competitive cycling destination, while at the same time preserving cultural heritage and improving the quality of life of local communities.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports recognizes the importance of such initiatives and expresses its full support for your further work and the successful implementation of the project.
