Dear Ms. Borić,
It is a great honor of mine to extend my warmest congratulations on the premiere of the play “Hasanaginice, kako ti je ime” (Hasanaginica, what’s your name), a work of art that courageously and impressively speaks about one of the most serious wounds of our society – violence against women and the tragic reality of femicide.
This contemporary interpretation of one of the most famous ballads of the South Slavic cultural circle is a strong reminder that every artistic questioning of violence and injustice is much more than an aesthetic act: it is a call for responsibility, empathy and an urgent social response. The play impressively restores the voice of those who have been denied it and opens up space for much-needed dialogue, not only in cultural institutions but also in the wider community.
I congratulate the team of authors, the cast and everyone involved in the creation of this important project. With your work, you confirm that theater can be a powerful agent of change and a place where the dignity of every human being is recognized.
