Today, the Summit of Young Leaders was held in the Hills Hotel in Sarajevo, which brought together experts, representatives of the government, civil society, educational institutions and international partners from the country and abroad.
The central event of the Summit was a panel discussion titled “Inclusion without borders”, which was attended by the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević, along with other panelists: David Evangelista, President of the Special Olympics for Europe and Eurasia, Marina Riđić from UNFPA, Nineta Popović from UNICEF and Velibor Lazarević from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH.
The President of the Special Olympics for Europe and Eurasia, David Evangelista made a special mention in his address of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, which should serve as a role-model to others as the only state-level institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina that employed a person with Down syndrome for an indefinite period of time.
In her address, Minister Vlaisavljević emphasized the importance of joint action by institutions in creating a fair and accessible environment for all citizens, regardless of their physical, social or economic circumstances.
The Minister also emphasized that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports remained firmly committed to creating a society in which inclusion would be not only a legal obligation, but also a real everyday practice.
This event once again demonstrated that inclusion was the foundation of sustainable social development and democratic values, and that only by working together we were able to build a society of equal opportunities for all.
