In the City Hall in Mostar, the Contract was signed by the Vice-Governor of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (CEB), Tomáš Boček, and the Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić. The construction project of the Cultural and Sports Centre began four years ago, and it was designed as a multifunctional space that will enable the holding of indoor sports meetings, cultural programmes, educational activities and congresses. For the City of Mostar, it represents an extremely important infrastructure project that contributes to cultural, sports and social life.
On this occasion, the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports pointed out the following:
“The City of Mostar is always mentioned as a syntagm with a negative connotation, a “case city” and I would elevate this syntagm to the highest value. Today, Mostar is a “case city” that truly connects because today Paris, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Vitez, Kiseljak are all in one place, and all because of Mostar and Mostar’s future connecting the Centre. I am convinced that this example will serve as an example to other cities, especially the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, of how a childhood dream and enthusiasm and desire to ennoble a city can result in great success.”
After the signing ceremony, the participants, including representatives of higher levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a delegation from the Council of Europe Development Bank, toured the construction site of the Centre.
