Minister Sanja Vlasavljević met today at the Ministry with representatives of the Skiing Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of the Association, Senad Šišić, and a member of the Association, Jasmin Mehić.
After welcoming remarks, the guests informed the Minister about the current situation in the Skiing Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, plans for the upcoming period, but most of all about the challenges that professional and talented skiers were facing on a daily basis on and off the slopes. The guests highlighted the lack of continuous financing and the inability to plan costs as the biggest problems, which at the beginning of each ski season represented a great challenge for representatives of the Association and BiH national team members of all ages.
Furthermore, the meeting attendants also discussed the formation of the Cantonal Skiing Association in the upcoming period, for which the first steps had already been taken, as well as young Bosnian and Herzegovinian skiers who were achieving significant global success at international skiing resorts, and a model for supporting their professional sports development.
Minister Vlaisavljević emphasized the determination of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports to support the work of the Skiing Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and young athletes for their exceptional results, and announced the work of the Sports Foundation, which will devote special attention in the future to providing scholarships to young, promising Bosnian and Herzegovinian sports gems.
