Meeting of the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports with Academic Painter Nebojša Dimovski

Today, at the office of the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, a meeting was held between Sanja Vlaisavljević and academic painter Nebojša Dimovski. The occasion was the recently held exhibition by this young painter dedicated to sevdalinka at the Historical Museum in Sarajevo. With this exhibition, in which he presented twenty works inspired by sevdah, Dimovski achieved significant success with both the public and art critics. The exhibition was held under the patronage of the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo. For this reason, it is planned that the works from this exhibition will also be presented outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first in a series of international exhibitions will open on March 17 this year in Zagreb, with further exhibitions planned in Berlin, Prague, Vienna, and Istanbul.

Considering that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports prepared the nomination document through which sevdalinka was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Minister Vlaisavljević expressed her satisfaction with this exhibition dedicated to sevdalinka.

The meeting was also attended by Mirela Milićević Šečić, Assistant in the Department of Culture.

Discussions focused on the possibilities of supporting Nebojša Dimovski’s future projects, which will undoubtedly make a valuable contribution to the affirmation and promotion of contemporary Bosnian-Herzegovinian visual arts production both at home and abroad.
