Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević met with the President of the Jewish Municipality Rahela Džidić and the President of La Benevolencija Vladimir Andrle. At the very beginning, Minister Vlaisavljević congratulated and wished successful work to the recently elected President of the Jewish Municipality, Rahela Džidić. In the long history of activity of the Jewish Municipality in Sarajevo since 1565, which is a full 460 years of the existence of the organized activity of the Jewish community in our capital, Rahela Džidić is the first woman elected to this position. Those present agreed that this information is significant in many ways and speaks volumes about the overall social changes we are witnessing today. The result of this is one of the important projects mentioned by Džidić, which refers to the research of the role and significance of Sephardic Jewish women.

The president of the La Benevolencija society, Andrle, thanked Minister Vlaisavljević for her support and undoubted sensibility for helping the La Benevolencija society, which plays a key role in preserving the Jewish tradition in our country.

During the meeting, they discussed numerous challenges facing the Jewish community in the field of cultural and historical heritage, as well as the possibilities of financial support for projects in the field of culture.
