Today in the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, a meeting was held between the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević, with Haris Pašović, the director and artistic director of the international festival Sarajevo Fest.
Within the funds of the Transfer for Culture of importance for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the year 2025, funds have been allocated to support the project “Sarajevo Fest 2025”, an international art festival that is a member of the European Festival Association. It is a specific artistic project of the East West Center that includes a wide program aspect from interesting conversations that encourage critical thinking through panel discussions to the promotion of regional theater performances in co-production with major theater companies in the region with topics related to politics, freedom of speech, minority rights, gender equality and other topics important to BiH society as a whole.
By supporting festivals, which achieved membership in European associations and thereby confirmed their adherence to European values and standards, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports singled out and recognized their role in the creation of artistic space and activities in our country.
During the meeting, they discussed future models of cooperation where the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports would have a more active partner role, since this year the East West Center as an independent cultural organization is celebrating its 20th anniversary of work and activities.
