The Mayor of Čapljina Iva Raguž hosted a meeting in her office on the topic of cultural and historical heritage protection. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Spatial Planning and Construction Service of the City Administration of Čapljina, Irena Bakalar Bulum, project manager Elma Prcić Bilić, on behalf of the European Commission Delegation, Mahir Hujić and Almir Adžović from the “HELP” organisation, Iskra Tafro and Jelena Brkić from the CPRD, and Robert Stergar, Director of the Institute for Monuments Protection.

The meeting attendants discussed cooperation through cultural and historical heritage protection projects and opportunities of support from European funds and development programmes. They also discussed the restoration works on the porch of the Počitelj Madrasah, as well as the significance and further development of the newly opened HGSS Education Centre in Čapljina.

The meeting took place in a pleasant atmosphere, with a focus on the topics of protection of cultural and historical heritage and strengthening of local capacities for education and security. The participants emphasised the importance of the European Union support in the implementation of initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of the local community.
