Maja Salkić-Burazerović and Ishak Jalimam presented the news of the Sarajevo War Theatre to Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević

Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević met at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports with the representatives of the Public Institution Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTRT), actress and Director Maja Salkić-Burazerović and producer Ishak Jalimam.

After Minister Vlaisavljević’s welcome, the guests praised the extremely quickly organised reception at the Ministry after their having submitted a meeting request, but also expressed their gratitude for last year’s and this year’s support of the Ministry to the SARTR theatre seasons, which significantly facilitated their work.

Salkić-Burazerović and Jaliman presented to minister Vlaisavljević numerous news and projects of SARTR that had been worked on in the past period, especially highlighting the final phase of the project in which they had the coordinating role, and which was financed by Creative Europe. As the guests pointed out, SARTR also received support as the coordinator of the European Cooperation Projects Medium Scale, in addition to another project in which they participated as partners (Medium Scale).

The guests also informed the Minister about the signed contract related to the Creative Europe – Perfor Europe programme, in which they would also participate as coordinators.

As Salkić-Burazerović and Jalimam proudly pointed out, thanks to the application for foreign funds, SARTR managed to secure as much as KM 1.000.000 with which they would significantly improve the work of the theatre, which Minister Vlaisavljević praised as an exceptional success and “a bright example that could serve as a model to other cultural institutions not interested in the possibility of applying for similar grants.”

She wished the representatives of SARTR success in their future work and patience for all the challenges that, in a serious approach to work, they would certainly face, pointing out that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports would support their work of as much as possible.
