Living Tradition: “Imprints of Tradition” revive the spirit of heritage through Easter eggs of the “Udružene Kreševke” (United Female Citizens of Kreševo) and an exhibition by Irena Mrnjavac and Nikola Franjić

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports organized a program called “Imprints of Tradition”, once again confirming its commitment to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

The program included a workshop on decorating Easter eggs using the traditional wax technique, as well as a photography exhibition “Identity”, whose authors were Irena Mrnjavac and Nikola Franjić.

Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević emphasized the importance of nurturing tradition as the basis of the identity of every community and emphasized that these activities were organized during Holy Week, which authentically connect the past and the present

“If we forget tradition, we have forgotten about the community and identity. In doing so, we lose who we are. By remembering, reminding and reviving tradition, we actually revive the spirit of being of every community,” said Vlaisavljević.

Easter egg decorating workshop reminded of old techniques and customs passed down through the generations, including motifs inspired by traditional tattoos, hissing, while the photo exhibition offered an artistic view of identity and heritage through contemporary visual language.

The program brought together participants of different generations, providing a combination of education, art and preservation of tradition. The musical part of the evening was completed by Vlado Podany and Tin Tomić.
