Launch of the project of conservation and restoration of the Počitelj Madrasah porch  

The implementation of the project of conservation and restoration works on the porch of the Madrasah in Počitelj has started.

The official meeting of all project participants was held at the construction site and was attended by the project manager Elma Prcić Bilić on behalf of the investor, the Delegation of the European Commission; Mahir Hujić and Almir Adžović on behalf of the implementer, “HELP” organisation, Iskra Tafro and Jelena Brkić on behalf of the CPRD and by representatives of the selected contractor, Adapt 12 d.o.o. Mostar. At the meeting, the method of communication and the preliminary dynamics of the works were agreed, which will be submitted in writing by the contractor.

After the meeting attendants were informed about the initial problems with the organisation of the construction site, the ways of solving the problems were agreed.

After the meeting at the Madrasah construction site, the meeting participants visited the completed revitalisation works on the Old School in Počitelj, located outside of the Upper Town walls, which was, with the support of the European Union Delegation, made into the Educational Centre of the Herzegovinian Mountain Rescue Service of Čapljina (HGSS). The works were completed and the facility was put into operation.

Then, a meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere at the Office of the Mufti of Mostar, Salem-ef. Dedović, D.Sc. After the opening remarks, the Mufti was informed that the works on the porch of the Počitelj Madrasah had started. After that, the current problems in Počitelj and possible activities of overcoming them were discussed. The conversation ended with an exchange of opinions on the possibilities of realising new projects that could be supported by the European Union funds.
