We inform all interested artists and institutions in the field of musical art that the call for participation in the international competition “Tokyo MINATO CITY International Music Competition & Workshop 2026” – Piano Section, which will be held in Tokyo from September 24 to October 1, 2026, is open.

It is a prestigious international competition that aims to discover and affirm young musical talents and promote them on the world stage. The competition is realized with the participation of a renowned international jury and ends with the final performances with the orchestra.

Pianists of all nationalities born in the period from 1996 to 2010 have the right to participate, provided that they are at least 16 and at most 30 years old on the day of the competition.

Applications are submitted exclusively through the online platform, with mandatory submission of video recordings of performances for the selection round.

The deadline for submitting applications is 27 April 2026.

The competition takes place through several stages (pre-selection, preliminary round, semi-final and final), and the most successful contestants are awarded cash prizes and awards, including the main prize in the amount of 5,000,000 Japanese yen, as well as the possibility of further concert engagements.
