Institute for the Protection of Monuments: Visit to the Architectural Ensemble of the Tabačka Mosque in Visoko

At the request of Edžnan ef. Hajrić from Visoko, an inspection was carried out of the current state of the national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Architectural Ensemble of the Tabačka (Tabačica) Mosque in Visoko.

In Čaršijska Street, which represents the western contact zone of this national monument, the paving is being replaced. The curb with columns has been removed and it is necessary to define the contact detail between the new paving and the mosque harem. A joint tour was carried out during which the Institute gave suggestions regarding the materialisation and the type of fence that can be installed. Suggestions were given for paving the path through the harem, as well as for the restoration of the fountain and cobblestones, which belong to the national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was agreed with the design supervisor, Admir Karavelić, that the verbally agreed details would be transferred to the drawings and submitted to the Institute for an expert opinion. Representatives of the Tabačica congregation also participated in the tour.
