At the invitation of the contractor’s representative, expert supervision was carried out on the facade renovation works at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Stup on 18 March 2025. The works are taking place according to the established schedule. The Contractor repaired all damage to the flat surfaces of the facade. In parallel with these works, the moldings and cornice on the bell tower and side facades of the building were removed. Good weather conditions allowed the facade to be painted in one layer on the bell tower.
After the review of the works completed so far by the expert supervision, it was agreed on behalf of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments that the remaining painting of the church facade in the first layer will be done next week, after which the painting of the second layer of the facade will begin. After the painting of the aforementioned layers is completed, the Contractor will begin removing the scaffolding from the building.
As part of this renovation of the facade, it remains to additionally protect the entrance doors of the church, both in the colour of the existing carpentry on the building, and to redo the economic staircase from the same type of stone from which the main staircase at the entrance was made.
