Information from the meeting of the Reporting Group for Education, Culture, Sports, Youth and the Environment (GR-C) – Culture

The meeting of the Reporting Group was held in Strasbourg from November 18 to 20, 2025, within the framework of the 14th Plenary Meeting of the Steering Committee for Culture, Heritage and Landscape (CDCPP). On this occasion, the organization of a conference devoted to the implementation of the Council of Europe Convention on landscape, on freedom of artistic expression and the adoption of guidelines on aspects related to the Council of Europe Convention on criminal offenses related to cultural property was supported.

Special emphasis was also placed on raising awareness among young people about the prevention of criminal offenses related to cultural property. Also, it was pointed out at the meeting that in 2025, the Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (Fara Convention) marked twenty years of its existence.

It is important to note that the Report states that significant progress has been made in the activities related to the Council of Europe Convention, and the hope is expressed that ten ratifications of the Nicosia Convention will be carried out soon, so that the first meeting of the Committee of the Parties can be convened.
