In the eve of 21 September – International Peace Day

The International Peace Day, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981, is celebrated every year on 21 September with the aim of strengthening the ideals of peace among all peoples and countries of the world.

This day is a reminder of the importance of joint action in building a society based on tolerance, mutual respect and solidarity, and of the need to permanently promote the values of dialogue and understanding.

Peace is not only the absence of conflict, but also the presence of justice, respect for human rights and equal opportunities for all people.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports joins in marking the International Day of Peace, with the conviction that, today – more than ever, only through joint efforts can we build a more just, secure and prosperous society for future generations.

For justice, respect for human rights, for peace!
