The traditional Mental Health Days was held from 7 to 11 October 2025, in Sarajevo in organisation of the Menssana Association, in cooperation with the Public Institution Psychiatric Hospital of the Sarajevo Canton and the FBiH Psychologists’ Association, with the support of the company Bosnalijek.
The central event of the programme was the Sarajevo Mental Health Symposium, held on 9-10 October at the Hotel Hills, Ilidža. It brought together experts in psychiatry, psychology, social work, education, and public health. This second edition of the Symposium created space for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and new approaches to mental health protection, with a special focus on prevention, destigmatisation, and intersectoral cooperation.
Alongside the professional gathering, the Mental Health Festival was held, featuring workshops, exhibitions, panels, performances, and public discussions that brought the topic closer to the general public and encouraged open dialogue about the challenges faced by individuals with mental health difficulties and their families.
The 2nd Sarajevo Mental Health Symposium was attended by Hanadin Basarić on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.
This year’s Mental Health Days once again highlighted the importance of joint action by institutions, professionals, and citizens in raising awareness about the significance of mental health.
