I send you my sincere congratulations on the opening of the exhibition of replicas of reliefs from stećak tombstones entitled “Stories in Stone”.

This exhibition truly revives the rich heritage of stećak tombstones – unique stone monuments that represent the invaluable cultural and historical heritage of our region. Reliefs carved into stone for centuries bear witness to the spirituality, symbolism and everyday life of the people who lived here, and their artistic and cultural value goes beyond local boundaries and is permanently inscribed in the identity of all of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is particularly significant that this exhibition is being held in the city of Livno, whose landscape and historical layers preserve numerous traces of medieval heritage. Such projects not only contribute to the preservation and presentation of cultural assets, but also raise awareness of the importance of their continuous research, protection and transmission to future generations.
