On Tuesday, 14 August 2024, the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina followed the Franciscan Museum in Tomislavgrad and opened its doors to the exhibition “Delmati: the Strength of Unity” by the Museum of Cetinjska Krajina from Sinj. The exhibition is a result of cooperation of eleven institutions from the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the University of Mostar, the Franciscan Museum of Tomislavgrad, the Franciscan Museum of Livno-Gorica and the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević addressed the attendants reminding them of this year’s theme of the traditional international manifestation “Days of European Heritage”: “Roads, Networks, Connections”.
“I would like to relate this topic to the reason of our gathering here tonight. Isn’t it a nice motto for all these roads, networks and connections through which the Delmatians brought us together, all the way from what used to be the Field of Duvno, the Field of Kupres, Tomislavgrad to Sinj, Solin, and then recently, via Šibenik, Split, Kašteli, Livno, Mostar, Tomislavgrad, Imotski and other towns, we found ourselves in Sarajevo, which every traveller describes as the city combining the beautiful and the good. This will be an opportunity to confirm it, and to confirm also that roads, networks, and connections are firmly connected tonight,” said the Minister in an inspired speech.
After the representative of the Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Nina Obuljen Koržinek, the Head of the International Cultural Cooperation and European Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Mirjana Ana Maria Piskulić, officially opened the exhibition, the guests visited this valuable exhibition under the expert guidance of the curator of the Franciscan Museum in Tomislavgrad, Stipan Dilber.
In addition to Minister Vlaisavljević, the official opening of the exhibition was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH, H. E. Ivan Sabolić, Deputy Prefect of the Split-Dalmatia County of the Republic of Croatia, Stipe Čogelj, Director of the Cetinska Krajina Museum SInj, Darija Domazet and other distinguished guests.
