DAYS OF EUROPEAN HERITAGE 2024
“Roads, Connections and Networks”
16 October 2024 at 7 p.m.
We are pleased to announce that the Association for the Affirmation of Spiritual Music and Culture “Hazreti Hamza” from Sarajevo will perform on the Promenade of Culture on 16 October 2024, with the beginning at 7 p.m. within the traditional “Days of European Heritage 2024” programme.
The “Hazreti Hamza” Choir emphasizes that their vision is to preserve the tradition of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since its foundation, the Association has participated in many large sufi and world music festivals. Through their work, they have brought the autochthonous spiritual song – ilahija close to millions of people throughout the world. They have been working diligently to preserve everything that is traditional, because in this way they give young people an insight into how proud their history is.
“Tradition is a basic part of every nation and we should not forget what our ancestors created over the centuries. With that, we embarked on research into the spiritual chants of our people and found a treasure that testifies about ourselves in this area,” said members of the “Hazreti Hamza”.
Along with the tradition that is in their hearts and the reality of the times we live in, they have also been creating the new spiritual songs. They are committed to the idea that tradition and modern times are only in correlation and not in opposition. Therefore, their music and art are a path and connection through all the historical spheres of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a part of Europe and its heritage.
This theme reminds us how our paths are intertwined, and the connections we build through the shared experience of music can create lasting networks of support and community, so we invite you to join us on the Promenade of Culture on Wednesday.
Respectfully yours,
