The “Days of European Heritage 2025” were marked last night on the Promenade of Culture by presenting the traditions, customs and culture of the Posušje Municipality.
After Tešanj, Maglaj, Novi Šeher and Kupres had presented themselves on the Promenade in front of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports in previous weeks, numerous guests enjoyed this Wednesday the diverse programme, as well as the rich gastronomic offer that the hardworking people of Posušje prepared for the hosts, as well as all the guests of the Ministry.
“I am particularly happy that a breath of Herzegovina has arrived among our mountains, in Sarajevo. It is a great joy for me to greet the Mayor of Posušje Municipality, Ante Begić, who will present the programme and through the magic of his sentences we will travel from Sarajevo to Posušje and back,” said Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević at the beginning of the programme, welcoming all participants.
“On my own behalf and on behalf of all the residents of Posušje, I would like to sincerely thank Minister Vlaisavljević and the Ministry’s employees for bringing us together and enabling us to present at least a part of our Posušje, whose name was first mentioned in written documents in 1378. Posušje is breathing at full speed today. It is a small and gentle town with a rich past, a developed present and, I believe, a bright future,” said the Mayor of the Municipality of Posušje, Ante Begić, in his speech, who then introduced all the participants of the programme.
Members of the Cultural Association “Fra Petar Bakula” performed traditional dances and songs – the traditional dance “Lindžo”, accompanied by musicians with the “diple” wooden instrument and the “Herzegovina”, accompanied by musicians with the “lirica” traditional Croatian instrument.
This was followed by lighter notes performed by an excellent musical duo, Marijana Bomoštar on the flute and Boris Bomoštar on the saxophone.
The highlight of the evening was the performance of the a capella group “Grga”, which, since its founding until today, has uniquely nurtured and promoted the culture of a capella singing, as well as traditional singing accompanied by instrumental music.
The guests at the Promenade enjoyed the almost three-hour programme of guests from Posušje, and it was clear that this week’s guests made the Sarajevo night unforgettable.
And it was also made unforgettable by the hardworking women of Posušje who prepared numerous delicacies, raštika, meat and traditional Herzegovinian doughnuts, and distributed them to the numerous audience, which gave this Sarajevo evening an additional touch of warmth and a homely atmosphere.
