On 16 October 2024, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports organised the 23rd event of the Days of European Heritage 2024 programme, this Wednesday with the “Hazreti Hamza” Choir from Sarajevo.
A large number of guests and passers-by gathered in front of the Ministry to enjoy the autochthonous spiritual songs that brought a special emotion to the Promenade and touched the hearts of the audience.
“I am particularly pleased to greet you tonight on this exceptional night in Sarajevo. Our walks continue, but guests like these are a rarity and truly an exceptional asset. This evening will be filled with spirit, networks, that which is sublime, that which will say that a lot separates, and I want to highlight and underline – that unites! That is the spiritual, the beautiful, the thing that should connect us. And it doesn’t matter how and in what way, but good, sublime, noble, spiritual is what we should all gather around. Therefore, I am sincerely looking forward to tonight’s guests and I am convinced that we will not leave this concert the same. I am convinced that what we will hear from this great group of people is something that we will think about, and because of which, in these turbulent times, we will become much better people”, said the federal minister of culture and sports Sanja Vlaisavljević at the very beginning of last night’s concert.
“Tonight’s performance is specific, unusual, and I am glad that we have been kindly invited by respected Minister Vlaisavljević. We hope you will enjoy the programme we have prepared for you”, said the Chairman of the Association for the Affirmation of Spiritual Music and Culture “Hazreti Hamza” and one of the members of the Choir, Kenan Hadžifejzović.
The “Hazreti Hamza” Choir emphasizes that their vision is to preserve the tradition of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since its foundation, the Association has participated in many large sufi and world music festivals. Through their work, they have brought the autochthonous spiritual song – ilahija close to millions of people throughout the world. They have been working diligently to preserve everything that is traditional, because “tradition is a basic part of every nation and there is a fear that what our ancestors created over the centuries will be forgotten,” say the “Hazreti Hamza” Choir.
