Culture, cultural heritage and the spirit of Tešanj on today’s Promenade of Culture in front of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports

“Culture of Tešanj on the Promenade of Culture” is this week’s event organised by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports on the Promenade of Culture in order to bring a breath of the Tešanj region to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and testify to its rich history.

At the very beginning of the event, Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević greeted the guests:

“A big greeting to all of you who have decided to be on our Promenade today. Our dear guests, but also the hosts from Tešanj, have prepared a surprise programme for us today. From today, we will have the practice of presenting our beautiful towns here in front of the Ministry. Enjoy and welcome,” said Minister Vlaisavljević.

The curator and historian of the Tešanj Museum, Sedin Bedak, welcomed the guests and presented the Museum’s exhibition that visitors had the opportunity to see on the Promenade: “We have prepared two exhibitions for today. One is an exhibition by the academic painter Ahmet Hundur, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts right on this Promenade, in the most beautiful building in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The exhibition was opened in 2015 in Tešanj, and the theme is the mayors of Tešanj. He painted using the stain technique. We also have two paintings that show Tešanj from the Austro-Hungarian period. Our idea was to present our town through human greatness that existed about a hundred years ago. Tešanj is known for many things, and today we will present the old craft of making objects from clay, and we are talking about the Greek art of Tešanj,” announced Bedak.

The musical part of the programme was performed by members of the Youth Ensemble of the Municipality of Tešanj, and the following sevdalinka songs: “Tešanj grade, moj veliki jade”, “Stade se cvijeće rosom kititi” and numerous others, performed by the Ensemble soloists Lejla Mujkanović, Amina Kašibović and Adna Smailbegović, and the audience was particularly moved by the performance of the popular song “Iznad Tešnja”.
