Call for applications for membership in the Danube Youth Council (DYC)

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports the invitation from the Danube Youth Council (DYC) to submit applications for Council membership for certain member countries of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), including Bosnia and Herzegovina. More than 15 current members of the Danube Youth Council will leave the council on 31 October 2025, and their positions will remain vacant.

The Danube Youth Council consists of 28 members, i.e. two members from each of the 14 countries of the Danube region (Republic of Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Croatia, Czech Republic, Federal Republic of Germany, Hungary, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Montenegro, Republic of Romania, Republic of Serbia, Slovak Republic, Republic of Slovenia and Ukraine).

The Danube Youth Council was founded in October 2022, first as a pilot project, and then as a long-term project. It exists as a structure for the institutional inclusion of young people in all EUSDR bodies with the aim of ensuring that young people’s ideas and views are heard and considered at the political level.

The activities of the Danube Youth Council include:

– Participation in meetings of the EUSDR bodies to represent the views of the young generation and provide advice and recommendations to the EUSDR participants,

– Involvement in the EUSDR priority areas,

– Active contribution to the annual EUSDR forum and other events/conferences,

– Cooperation with the respective EUSDR presidency,

– Joint work on specific thematic issues relevant to the Danube region, e.g. through the publication of papers/essays.

All interested candidates aged 18-29, who are actively involved in youth issues, are invited to apply to the open call.

The call is open until 10 September 2025.
