Bosnian Cultural Center: Visitors of the “Christmas and New Year’s Concert” Enjoyed Works of Famous Composers

In a festive holiday atmosphere last night, organized by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport, the “Amadeus” Foundation, and the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Fine Arts, a Christmas and New Year’s concert was held at the Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo.

An evening filled with music, emotions, and warmth brought together numerous art lovers who celebrated the end of the year in the spirit of solidarity and hope.

The concert was more than a musical event – it was a call for solidarity and a reminder of the power of unity, the importance of small acts of kindness, and the universal language of music that connects people.

Addressing the many visitors at the BKC, Federal Minister of Culture and Sport Sanja Vlaisavljević emphasized that this concert unites all those who wish to feel the magic of bidding farewell to one year. In her speech, she also reflected on the presentation of culture and traditions of cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on December as a month of elevation, goodness, and giving.

The Beginning of the Instrument Fund Initiative Delighted the Audience

The concert also carried the spirit of giving. On this occasion, Minister Vlaisavljević invited young Marija Matijević from Srebrenik, a first-year student at the Secondary Music School in Tuzla, to the stage. Then, Emir Nuhanović, conductor and member of the Board of the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Fine Arts, gifted the girl a violin, thereby marking the official start of the noble idea of donating instruments.

With an appeal to citizens who own musical instruments they no longer use to donate them to the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Fine Arts—so that such acts may bring joy and strengthen the path of children with special needs, children without parental care, or talented children from socially vulnerable families—the concert was tailored to the holiday atmosphere.

Visitors enjoyed performances of classical music by composers such as Johann Strauss, Franz Schubert, Uzeyr Hajibeyli, Felix Mendelssohn, Vittorio Monti, and many others.
