An Evening Devoted to European Heritage: Dialogue between Tradition and Modernity

The cultural programme was held last night on the Promenade of Culture within the celebration of the Week of European Heritage, which once again confirmed the power of art to connect generations, preserve tradition and inspire the future.

In the introductory part of the programme, Martina Marinčić, an employee of the Institute for the Monuments’ Protection at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, explained that this year’s international manifestation “Days of European Heritage” was dedicated to the theme of architectural heritage, which emphasized the exceptionally rich and diverse built landscape that shaped the cultural identity of Europe and confirmed architecture as a fundamental component of cultural identity and sustainability.

The musical part of the programme featured the orchestra of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Lola”, whose members faithfully conveyed the spirit of the old town and city melodies, reminding us of the wealth of musical heritage. A special moment of the evening was the performance of the young solo singer Uma Nina Handan, whose voice filled the Promenade with warmth and emotion. Her interpretation of old town songs drew a standing ovation from the audience, leaving a strong impression and confirming that tradition lived on through new generations.

The guests were addressed by Vedad Štaljo, Secretary General of the Cultural and Artistic Association “Lola”, thanking the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, headed by Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević, who supported their participation in the event.

“The invitation to be a part of the European story is a great recognition for everything we do, which is the preservation and promotion of a rich cultural heritage.” – said Štaljo.

In the second part of the programme, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy a concert by Mirza Pandur, whose authentic musical expression, accompanied by Vladimir Podany on the keyboards, brought contemporary sound into a dialogue with cultural heritage. The audience enthusiastically accepted the rhythm of the evening, spontaneously gathering to dance and socialize in an atmosphere imbued with joy and positive energy.

This evening will be remembered as an evening of tradition and modernity combined in an event that touched the hearts of the guests and reminded us of the values that shaped us.
