Action Plan of Visits of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports: Supervision Conducted at Obala Art Center Sarajevo – “31st Sarajevo Film Festival”

Within the framework of the Action Plan of visits to the beneficiaries of approved funds, Sanja Arnautović, Head of the Department for Institutions and Associations in the Field of Culture in the Division of Culture of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, carried out on 11 November 2025 supervision of the implementation of the project titled 31st Sarajevo Film Festival by the beneficiary Obala Art Center Sarajevo, supported from the Ministry’s Transfer for Culture of Importance to the Federation of BiH, Program 5: International Festival – Sarajevo Film Festival.

The Sarajevo Film Festival represents the most significant film, cultural, and artistic event in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as one of the most influential film event in the Southeast European region. As a Class A festival and a member of international festival networks, SFF plays a key role in promoting the domestic and regional film industry, encouraging international cooperation and co-productions, strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cultural diplomacy, and positioning Sarajevo as an important center of European and global film art.

Through its rich competition and accompanying programme, educational and industry segment (CineLink Industry Days), SFF annually gathers thousands of visitors, film professionals, producers, international selectors, and representatives of global film institutions. The Festival significantly contributes to the international visibility of the country, the development of creative industries, cultural tourism, and the strengthening of professional capacities of domestic filmmakers.

It was established by the supervision that all activities planned by the project had been successfully implemented, including the complete festival programme, industry content, promotions, media activities, and technical aspects of organization.

During the supervision, the beneficiary provided media releases, promotional materials, and relevant documentation, thereby confirming the successful implementation of project activities in accordance with contractual obligations.

Upon completion of administrative procedures, Obala Art Center Sarajevo will submit to the Ministry the complete financial documentation along with a narrative report, in line with prescribed deadlines.

The project 31st Sarajevo Film Festival remains one of the most significant cultural events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond, with exceptional importance for the promotion of film art, international cultural exchange, and the affirmation of Sarajevo as a regional center of contemporary film creativity.
