As part of the Action Plan of visits to beneficiaries of approved funds, the Head of the Department for Institutions and Associations in the field of culture within the Culture Sector of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, Sanja Arnautović, on December 9, 2025, carried out supervision of the implementation of the project “5th International Festival of Veterans and Recreational Performers – Folklore is a Game for a Lifetime”, organized by the Association “Bašlija” Sarajevo, which was supported by the Ministry’s funds.
The project “Folklore is a Game for a Lifetime” has been fully implemented, and this year’s festival gathered numerous participants from the country and abroad, promoting rich traditional heritage, intergenerational cooperation, and the importance of folklore art as a lasting value.
Within the project, all planned activities were successfully carried out, namely:
- Concert of veteran and recreational ensembles
- Workshop dedicated to nurturing and learning traditional dances
- Cultural walk of participants through Sarajevo’s landmarks
- Entertainment and social gathering of participants
- Promotion of the project through media and public activities
During the supervision, the submitted documentation, promotional materials, and media publications were reviewed, confirming that the project was implemented in accordance with contractual obligations and planned program content.
Upon completion of all administrative procedures, the Association “Bašlija” Sarajevo will submit to the Ministry a narrative and financial report on the implementation of the project, in accordance with prescribed procedures and deadlines.
The project “5th International Festival of Veterans and Recreational Performers – Folklore is a Game for a Lifetime” contributes to the preservation of traditional values, the connection of cultural and artistic societies, and the affirmation of folklore art as an important part of the cultural identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
