The conservation and restoration works on the Old Town of Gradačac continued with the execution of works on injecting the wall towards the park – rampart 5.2 B4B. After cleaning the wall of weeds and vegetation, it was determined that the binder was weakened and loosened, and the wall lost its load-bearing properties, therefore it was decided to inject the wall. It was agreed that the grouting should be done on the most vulnerable part of the wall, on a length of approx. 30 m. Materials from the German manufacturer MC Biochemie were proposed and accepted for grouting.
On 7 April 2026, the contractor was introduced to the job. The deadline for this phase of work is 45 days. The works will be performed by the company “Neimari” d.o.o. Sarajevo, and the supervision in front of the investors will be performed by “IPSA INSTITUTE” d.o.o. Sarajevo. Professional conservation supervision in front of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments will be accompanied by Lamija Abdijević, M.Sc., B.Sc.Arch.
On the same day, there was an inspection of the works on the illumination of the Old Town, which are nearing completion. The works are carried out in accordance with the project documentation “The main project for the illumination of the facade of the Husein-kapetan Gradašćević tower and the surrounding walls with towers”, based on which the Institute for the Protection of Monuments approved the works with its expert opinion. The installed lighting fixtures did not damage the structure and architectural elements of the protected buildings.
