Autism is just a different way of looking at the world.
Blue color lights up the world today – as a sign of support, understanding and togetherness. World Autism Awareness Day is a call to open our hearts and minds to the different ways people experience the world around them.
The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports joins the celebration of this day, which is celebrated every year on 2 April worldwide with the aim of raising awareness of the needs and rights of people with autism. This day reminds us of the importance of understanding, acceptance and support, and of the shared responsibility to build a society where every person has the opportunity to develop their potential.
Autism is not an obstacle to creativity, talent and contribution to society. On the contrary, people with autism enrich our society with their unique view of the world and remind us of the value of diversity. Culture and sports, as universal languages of connection, have a special role in creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
The Ministry will continue to support initiatives that promote inclusion, the availability of cultural and sports content, and the empowerment of families and communities. On this day, we invite all citizens to show solidarity, to be informed and to build together a society in which diversity is not a burden, but a strength.
Autism is not a choice, acceptance is.
