Representative of the Chess Club “Hrasno-Busovača” visited the Ministry

On 27 January 2026, a meeting was held in the premises of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports between the representatives of the Sports Sector, Marko Komšić and Bora Vujica, a representative of the Chess Club “Hrasno-Busovača”.

The representative of the Chess Club Hrasno from Busovača informed about the initiative for the implementation of the project called “Peace Tournament 2026 – Chess to Mutual Dialogue”.

The vision of the Peace Tournament is conceived as an open and developmental process that can be further shaped and upgraded in the future in cooperation with institutional, sports, cultural and political partners. “The project does not pretend to offer final solutions, but rather to open space for dialogue, trust and joint action”, said Mr. Boro Vujica.

Since its first institutional tournament in 1851 in London, chess has grown into a global symbol of intellectual dignity. However, precisely after the world wars, chess acquired an additional dimension – the dimension of peace.

Otherwise, this project, as stated by Mr. Vujica, does not promote the politicization of the past, but dignity, truth and reconciliation.
