Institute for the Protection of Monuments: Report on the expert supervision of the Central Bank building in Sarajevo

On 23 April 2026, the expert team of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments carried out a regular expert supervision of the works taking place on the Central Bank building in Sarajevo. The working meeting was attended by representatives of the investor-Central Bank, the contractor “ITC” d.o.o. from Zenica, a representative of the design company “URBING” d.o.o. from Sarajevo, a representative of the daily supervision from the company “IPSA” d.o.o. from Sarajevo, and representatives of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments.

The subject of the meeting was the selection of paint for the final painting of the facade and partitions. The contractor prepared five samples, from which the paint for the entire facade of the Bank building from Baumit’s color chart 0389 was selected. However, none of the offered colors proved adequate for the final painting of the partitions, and it was agreed with the contractor to apply two more colors from the same color chart (0397 and 0386). The intensification of color selection activities is based on the fact that the price increase for facade paints has been announced for the fifth month, which would greatly affect the already signed Construction Contract.

It was noted that the remaining works are proceeding according to the established schedule. According to the signed Contract, the works will last for the next four months, and the Institute will professionally supervise the works according to the legal obligation.

After the supervision of the Bank building, a meeting was held with the Chief Imam of the Kakanj Majlis, Zakir ef. Ljubović, regarding the activities on the works in the harem of the Mosque in Kraljeva Sutjeska, and a meeting was arranged at the facility itself with the aim of defining the continuation of the works.
