On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, the Second Conference of the Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held, with the topic “Strengthening Disaster Risk Management in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina through Improving the Legal Framework in the Field of Protection and Rescue”.

The Conference presented the Preliminary Draft Law on the Protection and Rescue System in Civil Protection of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a panel discussion on the same topic. The Preliminary Draft Law represents an important step towards the development of a more efficient, resilient and EU-standards-compliant civil protection system, with a focus on the safety of people and communities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Preliminary Draft was presented by Maida Mekić-Skrobanović and Enisa Bajrović from the Federal Civil Protection Administration.
