The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports Actively Works to Align Its Operations with the Existing Personal Data Protection Legislation

As part of the process of aligning its operations with the new Law on Personal Data Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina, No. 12/25), the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports has implemented the following activities during the previous period:

  • A Data Protection Officer (DPO) has been appointed;
  • Information on the appointment of the Data Protection Officer at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports has been submitted to the Personal Data Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
  • All Ministry employees have signed a Declaration on the Obligation to Maintain the Confidentiality of Personal Data;
  • A Record of Personal Data Processing Activities template has been prepared and distributed to the Ministry’s organizational units;
  • A Working Group has been established to align the Ministry’s operations with the Law on Personal Data Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
  • In cooperation with the Civil Service Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, training was conducted on the importance of personal data protection;
  • The practice of delivering employees’ payroll statements in sealed envelopes, as sensitive financial documentation, has been introduced;
  • Internal training was organized for Ministry employees on the importance of personal data protection within the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports;
  • The Service for Joint Affairs of the Bodies and Institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the controller of personal data processed through the video surveillance system in the premises of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, was informed of its obligation to align its activities with the new personal data protection legislation;
  • A notice has been placed at the entrance to the Ministry to inform visitors about the protection and processing of personal data when issuing visitor passes for access to the Ministry’s premises;
  • A notice has been placed at the entrance to the Ministry to inform visitors about the protection and processing of personal data through the video surveillance system.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports will continue to implement activities aimed at aligning its operations with the new Law on Personal Data Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the related regulations in the coming period.
