Institute for the Protection of Monuments: Report on the inspection of business premises in Maršala Tita/Dalmatinska Street 2 and Ćurčiluk 7 in Sarajevo

The Municipality of Centar addressed the Institute for the Protection of Monuments with a request for the issuance of an expert opinion for the performance of ongoing maintenance work on the business building in Maršala Tita/Dalmatinska Street No. 2 in Sarajevo and for the installation of an awning on the facade of the business building in Ćurčiluk Street 7 in Sarajevo.

The business premises in question are located within the protected area of the Historic Urban Landscape of Sarajevo, which was declared a national monument by the Decision of the Commission for the Preservation of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Upon inspection of the building in Maršala Tita Street No. 2, it was concluded that the ongoing maintenance work on the replacement of the roof covering (sheet metal) is justified and will not have a negative impact on the protected area of the national monument.

Upon inspection of the business building in Ćurčiluk street number 7, it was established that the awning was made in accordance with the given urban planning and technical conditions, which especially refers to the dimensions (6.0 m length) and the position of the awning support (under the eaves).
