Institute for the Protection of Monuments: Report on the expert supervision of the works on the Central Bank building in Sarajevo

On 30 April 2026, the expert team of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments carried out a regular expert supervision of the works taking place on the Central Bank building in Sarajevo.

The working meeting was attended by representatives of the investor – the Central Bank, the contractor – “ITC” d.o.o. from Zenica, a representative of the daily supervision from the company “IPSA” d.o.o. from Sarajevo and representatives of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments.

In addition to resolving controversial details related to benches, protective railings, roof waterproofing, permanent removal of sheet metal flashings and external air conditioning units, the subject of the meeting was also the selection of paint for the final treatment of the facade. Since the previously selected shade from Baumit’s color chart 0389 did not prove to be the correct choice, the expert team of the Institute asked a representative of Baumit to carry out an on-site color check.

After verification, the Baumit representative provided the contractor with five color shades that the contractor applied to the existing facade.

The Institute’s expert team selected three shades on the spot and with the consent of the investor’s representative: 0198 Baumit tone card – color for exterior facades, 0195 Baumit tone card – color for exterior slats and 0197 Baumit tone card – color for courtyard facade.

Other works proceed according to the previously determined dynamics. The contractor was introduced to the business on March 18, 2026. The expected deadline for execution is 150 working days, and according to the submitted dynamic plan, it is 16 October 2026.

The institute, in accordance with its legal obligation, will expertly supervise the works during the above-mentioned period.
