Institute for the Protection of Monuments: Report on the conducted professional supervision of the restoration and conservation works on the facade of the “National Government Building II”


On May 13, 2026, a coordination meeting was held at which current issues related to the implementation of restoration and conservation works on the facade of the building were discussed. An overview of the state of the works determined that the works are being carried out continuously and in accordance with the planned dynamics, project documentation and guidelines of the competent Institute for the Protection of Monuments.

During the meeting, representatives of the Institute adopted a proposal for the color scheme of the facade and presented a draft coloring scheme for the northern facade as the first unit planned for the execution of the final layer of paint. On this occasion, the contractor was given additional instructions and guidelines regarding the method of execution and application of the approved color solution.

Current issues related to the execution of controversial and specific details on the northern and western facades were also discussed, during which consultations were held with representatives of the Institute in order to coordinate further procedures and methods of rehabilitation of individual elements.

Work on the north facade is in its final stages and the surfaces are being prepared for painting. Facade and restoration and conservation works continue on the west facade.
