On 14 May 2026, an expert team from the Institute for the Protection of Monuments paid a working visit to Travnik, during which they inspected the condition of the national monument, the Clock Tower, and the state of the work completed so far on the Hasanpašić Tower, which is on the Provisional List and as such enjoys the status of a national monument and therefore the expert supervision of the protection service.
The current condition of the Clock Tower shows damage to the wooden structure and substructure of the roof, as well as the internal and external walls, which requires that the project documentation for the restoration be prepared as soon as possible, for which the Institute will prepare a detailed project task.
The work completed so far on the restoration and conservation of the existing walls on the Hasapašić Tower is proceeding according to the established schedule, with the work completed so far being carried out in accordance with professional rules.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the director of the Travnik Heritage Museum, Fatima Maslić, and architect Sabina Maslić, an employee of the Cultural Heritage Protection Service of the Travnik Heritage Museum, who presented other activities of the Museum, especially those related to archaeological excavations – at the Begića glavica site and the exploration of the Suhi cave in the Travnik area.
