On 8 September 2026, a representative from the Youth Sector of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports visited the “Sportkult” Association for the Development of Sport and Culture to monitor project implementation and verify the proper use of funds allocated for youth projects in 2026.

During the visit, activities carried out as part of the “6th International Basketball Tournament for Young Players – Sarajevo CUP,” held from 4 to 6 September 2026, were presented.

Preparatory activities began several months prior to the tournament and included project planning, promotion via media and social networks, participant registration, scheduling of matches, engagement of referees and technical staff, and the organization of a volunteer team.
The final phase involved the tournament’s opening ceremony, group-stage matches, and the awarding of medals to participants. Media articles from various online portals covering the project’s implementation were also presented for review.

The project successfully achieved its primary goal: fostering youth development through sports, non-formal education, and international cooperation, while creating a supportive environment for the development of the participants’ athletic, social, and personal competencies.

During the visit, the Association submitted a portion of the documentation and reports required to substantiate the project’s implementation. Given that the tournament concluded just prior to the visit, the Association will submit the remaining documentation—including the financial report and supporting financial records—in the coming period, once the documentation is complete.

The President of the Association, Dejan Radović, expressed his gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports for the support provided and the opportunity to enhance the Association’s work, as well as to promote sports, healthy lifestyle habits, and the active participation of young people in society.
This visit represents another step in monitoring the implementation of supported projects and ensuring the transparent and responsible use of funds intended for young people.
