As part of the action plan for visiting recipients of approved funding, Sanja Arnautović—Head of the Department for Cultural Institutions and Associations within the Culture Sector of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports—conducted a monitoring visit on 7 September 2026, regarding the implementation of the “32nd Sarajevo Film Festival” project. The project was carried out by the Obala Art Centar Sarajevo association and supported by funds from the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The Sarajevo Film Festival is one of the most significant international film and cultural events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region; through its rich film, industry, and accompanying programs, it brings together local, regional, and international filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences. The festival continuously contributes to the promotion of Bosnian-Herzegovinian and regional cinema, the development of the film industry, international cultural cooperation, and the promotion of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a key hub for the art of film.

The main festival program was carried out as part of the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, while all project activities conclude on September 12, 2026, with screenings in Jajce, thereby presenting a portion of the festival content to audiences outside Sarajevo as well.

During the monitoring visit, a review was conducted of promotional materials, media coverage, and other documentation related to the implemented program activities and the project’s public visibility. Upon completion of all project activities, the Obala Art Centre Sarajevo Association will submit the full financial documentation and a narrative report on the project’s implementation to the Ministry, in accordance with contractual obligations and prescribed deadlines.

The “32nd Sarajevo Film Festival” project holds exceptional significance for the cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its international cultural visibility, and the positioning of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European and global film scene, owing to its programmatic scope, international character, and the continuous development of the film industry.
