An official working meeting took place at the premises of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports with Mr. Haris Durak, a representative of the Weightlifting Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting provided an opportunity to initiate a constructive dialogue regarding key issues affecting the operations of this umbrella sports federation, as well as to discuss guidelines for its future development.
During the meeting, the representative of the Weightlifting Federation of BiH briefed the attendees on the general state of the Federation, results achieved on both domestic and international stages, and the administrative and organizational challenges encountered in their daily operations. Emphasis was placed on the importance of continuous work with young athletes, as well as the need for systemic solutions that would ensure more stable operations and continuity in achieving top-tier sports results.
Particular focus was placed on opportunities for financial support. Ministry representatives provided a detailed overview of the legal frameworks, available budget transfers, and the criteria for current public calls through which the Ministry co-finances the operations of sports federations, athlete preparations, and participation in major international competitions. It was highlighted that the Ministry is firmly committed to supporting umbrella sports organizations, in accordance with available funds and established procedures. It was mutually agreed that such direct working meetings represent the best way to identify actual needs on the ground, and an agreement was reached to continue intensive partnership cooperation and regular information exchange with the aim of improving the entire weightlifting system in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
