“Promenade of Culture” Dedicated to Srebrenica: Paying Tribute to Genocide Victims Through Art

Organized by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, a “Promenade of Culture” dedicated to fostering the culture of remembrance regarding the Srebrenica genocide took place on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, under the motto: “Let remembrance be more than a look back—truth and human dignity are enduring values.”

The program brought participants together for a dignified artistic commemoration of the genocide victims, sending a powerful message that truth, remembrance, and human dignity represent enduring values that bind present and future generations.

The artistic segment of the program featured violinist Lidija Čović, while a ballet performance further enriched an evening filled with emotion and reverence for the victims. Through music and dance, respect was paid to the innocent lives lost, and the importance of preserving the culture of remembrance was underscored.

With this program, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports once again reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the culture of remembrance and promoting the universal values of peace, truth, and human dignity. Once again, art served as a powerful reminder that remembrance is not merely a look into the past, but also a responsibility toward the future—ensuring that such crimes are never repeated against anyone.
