Representatives of associations from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina accredited to the UNESCO ICH Commission at a meeting at the Ministry

A working meeting was held at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports with a delegation of associations from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina accredited to the UNESCO Commission for the Intangible Heritage, led by Anka Raič, international facilitator for the 2003 UNESCO Convention. Other members of the delegation were: Hazim Osmanović, president of the Cultural and Artistic Association “Puračić” and Ana Suton, president of the HKUD “Rodoč” Mostar. The meeting was attended by Anita Vlašić and Berisa Mehović on behalf of the Ministry.

Representatives of the associations presented their work as well as their long-standing activities and experiences in improving the process of preserving intangible heritage in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting also discussed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and associations in preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritage and exchanging experiences and ideas for improving the process of implementing projects for preserving intangible cultural heritage in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Representatives of the associations emphasized the importance of adopting procedures for the submission of initiatives for the inscription of an element on the Preliminary Open List of Intangible Cultural Heritage maintained by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, as well as their compliance with UNESCO’s operational directives. Representatives of the Ministry emphasized that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports remains open to all initiatives that affirm cultural creativity and contribute to the development of culture in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
