Minister Vlaisavljević Opens the 13th Traditional Clothing Showcase and the Contest for the Most Beautiful Croatian Woman in Folk Costume from Outside the Republic of Croatia

Once again, Tomislavgrad became a center of Croatian tradition, cultural heritage, and unity, hosting the 13th Traditional Clothing Showcase and the contest for the most beautiful Croatian woman in folk costume from outside the Republic of Croatia.

The event was opened by the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević. In her address, Minister Vlaisavljević highlighted how this event transforms Tomislavgrad into a place of encounter and togetherness. She particularly emphasized the value of the gathering of Croatian women from various parts of the world, whose presence reaffirms their connection to their heritage.

She stressed that this event transcends a mere beauty pageant; it celebrates dignity, family values, and love for one’s roots, for a people who cherish their tradition not only preserve the legacy of their ancestors but also build the foundations for the future. Concluding her remarks, Minister Vlaisavljević wished for the contestants to remember the evening for the friendships formed, the smiles shared, and the pride felt in representing the richness of traditional heritage and unity.

This year, the title of the most beautiful Croatian woman in folk costume was awarded to Vesna Barišić from Argentina.

The gathering was further enriched by numerous dignitaries who attended to support the initiative, including many representatives from the cultural, social, and public spheres of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.
