The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports informs the interested public about the call for applications for participants in the international Hackathon on Democracy entitled “Hack the Hate, Renew Democracy” which will be held from 17 to 19 June 2026 in Strasbourg.

The event is being implemented as part of the Council of Europe initiative aimed at strengthening democratic processes and combating hate speech in the online space, and will bring together young experts, researchers, programmers and representatives of organizations from 46 Council of Europe member states.

The call is open to interdisciplinary teams in the fields of information technology, democracy, human rights, youth policies and design.
