Institute for the Monuments’ Protection: Report on the expert conservation supervision of the works on the Old Town of Gradačac

After the contractor was introduced to the work on 7 April 2026, test grouting on a section of the unstable rampart wall 5.2. B4B was carried out on 14 April 2026 in the presence of: the City Administration Service as an investor, the company “Neimari d.o.o. Sarajevo as a contractor, “IPSA INSTITUTA” d.o.o. Sarajevo as a supervisor in front of the investor, the Institute for the Protection of Monuments as an expert conservation supervisor and “MC Biochemie” Zagreb as a manufacturer of injection materials.

The trial injection was performed by Siniša Blažević, a technologist at MC Biochemie from Zagreb. A total of three packers were installed on one part of the wall at a depth of 60 cm, opening width Φ 12 mm. Packers are installed in drilled holes in the wall that are cleaned with compressed air. In the case of complete consolidation of the wall, the packers will be placed at a distance of 20 to 40 cm. The grid and diameter of the holes is determined depending on the type and width of the wall.

Injecting was done with Oxal VP and T flow materials using the injection method under low pressure, a maximum of 3 bars. Injection is performed with the MC-BMP 6 pump (low pressure injection machine). The procedure is carried out from a lower elevation to a higher one, with fullness control.

After injection, the packers must be removed, and the openings must be closed with a suitable mortar.
