Choreography “Once Upon a Time in Srebrenica” by the “Lola” Cultural and Artistic Association premiered in Sarajevo

On 18 May 2026, the premiere performance of the choreography “Once Upon a Time in Srebrenica” was held at the Youth Center, performed by the performing folklore ensemble and folk orchestra of the Lola Cultural and Artistic Association.

The program presented the story of former fairs and fairs, which were an important part of the social and cultural life of the population of Srebrenica and its surroundings, through dance, music and stage performance. The artistic approach presented customs, encounters and a way of life characteristic of this area, thus bringing a part of the rich intangible cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to the audience.

The choreography consists of dance patterns characteristic of the Srebrenica area and its surroundings, which were collected, recorded and preserved in the villages of this region. Through authentic movements, costumes and musical accompaniment, the performers successfully presented the traditional values ​​and folklore heritage of this area.

Attendance at this event confirmed the importance of preserving and promotion of traditional culture and folk creativity, as an important segment of cultural identity and collective memory. This cultural event was attended by the representative of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, Tidža Mekić.
