The 18th Sevdalinka Festival, “Sevdalinko, u srcu te nosim”, organized by the Association of Music Artists of Tuzla, once again confirmed the importance of preserving, promoting, and passing on sevdalinka as a valuable part of the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The festival brought together artists, performers, and admirers of sevdalinka, providing a platform for showcasing its artistic value, interpretative diversity, and rich musical tradition. Through its continuity and the dedicated work of its organizers, the event contributes to the preservation of this authentic musical expression and encourages its presentation to new generations.

The significant achievements of this year’s project are reflected in the continued promotion of sevdalinka, the affirmation of performers and music artists, the strengthening of awareness of the importance of intangible cultural heritage, and the creation of opportunities for the intergenerational transmission of musical tradition. The festival also contributes to the development of the cultural life of Tuzla and the wider area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirming that sevdalinka continues to hold an important place in contemporary cultural creativity.

We would particularly like to emphasize that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports provided support for the implementation of the Festival, recognizing the importance of projects that contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. On this occasion, the Ministry was presented with a certificate of appreciation for its support of the Festival, as a token of recognition for its commitment to initiatives aimed at safeguarding sevdalinka and presenting it to the wider public.
